It is the prescribed molecule.
The spectral fingerprint identifies the molecule: 5-FU, not carboplatin.
The QCRx® is not just a combination of spectrometers. It analyzes 1 mL sampled from the finished IV bag by dual UV and Raman spectroscopy, compares the result with a library of validated references and gives an automatic verdict: compliant or non-compliant.

The spectral fingerprint identifies the molecule: 5-FU, not carboplatin.
The actual concentration of the IV bag is measured and compared with the target.
NaCl 0.9% or glucose 5%: the vehicle is verified with every analysis.
1 mL sampled from the finished IV bag is enough.
The 1 mL sample is drawn beforehand, in the isolator, at the end of the preparation.
The sample passes into the measuring cell.
The sample's first spectral signature.
A second signature, complementary to the first.
Matched against the validated library.
Compliant: released. Deviation: pharmacist alerted.
It checks what really matters: the finished product. Every IV bag is analyzed in under 70 seconds, with no tedious double-checking or video to review. An objective final barrier that never gets tired.
Analytical control is often criticized for being too slow to release IV bags, for requiring a separate laboratory and analyst skills. The QCRx® was designed the other way round: it is installed in the cleanroom, as close as possible to production, is operated without analytical expertise and gives its verdict before release.
| Criterion | HPLC / UHPLC | FIA | QCRx® |
|---|---|---|---|
| Suitable for release | Difficult, result often too late | Possible | Designed to release every IV bag |
| Where to install it | Dedicated laboratory | Dedicated laboratory | In the cleanroom, next to production |
| Skills required | Qualified analytical technician | Specific training | No analytical expertise |
| Time per IV bag, from sampling to result | Several minutes of separation, plus sample preparation | about 2 min | under 70 s |
| Setting up a molecule | Several hours | Several hours | 30 min per molecule |

A single protocol for all these preparations. Syringes and infusers are not supported.
What pharmacists most often ask before a demonstration.
30 minutes with an expert: an assessment of your unit, then a machine demonstration.
